Final

For my final project, I wanted to touch on mental health and how that ties into my life. I decided to depict this by showing dreams and telling their meanings. People dream all the time and then research what they mean. I’m correlating this to myself and things I’m feeling.
Animals are pretty common in dreams and each animal that appears means a different thing. Animals represent the survival or willpower to keep going no matter how difficult something is. My project shows a wolf which here represents a lack of trust, a crow that represents individuality as well as speech or the lack thereof, a snake which symbolizes healing and transformation, a deer which represents sensitivity, a butterfly that represents the soul, and a fox that is a messenger as well as a leader to one’s demise. This speaks of how it’s hard for me to trust people now, my fight to become my own person apart from my twin and my struggle to speak about my feelings, my goal to get better, my soul, how sensitive I am, and how my depression likes to sneak up and drag me down.
Dreaming of a lover tells more about you than it does the person you’re actually dreaming about. It represents my relationship with my own nature and correlates to how I see myself. Dreaming of your reflection means you care way too much about how other around you see you. I have a lot of issues with self-consciousness and social anxiety so that’s what this piece is about. Also, dreaming of a mirror without a reflection means that you’ve lost your identity which is my way of showing that I no longer know the real me and who I am.
Dreaming of teeth falling out is a very common dream that a lot of people have, and it has a numerous amounts of meanings. In my image, it represents control and confidence and by the teeth falling out it means that something happened in my life that caused me to lose confidence in myself. It also means that there is a lot going on in someone’s personal life.
